Universities should transform agric sector — Landmark VC

How do you see the scrapping of  part-time programmes in universities by the National Universities Commission? 

We can look at it from two dimensions- the demand for university education and available resources to run  these part-time programmes.

If you look at what the NUC has done, it has not totally scrapped the programmes. What the commission is  saying is that for now, universities running these programmes should suspend the programmes pending a time when  there will be a comprehensive audit exercise of those programmes in terms of  the facilities and resources  deployed to run them.
