Nigeria employs drug-tainted coach for Olympics

Despite the stand of the country on zero-tolerance for drugs for the 2012 Olympics, the Athletic Federation of Nigeria has gone ahead to recruit a drug-tainted American named Garfield Ellenwood as one of the coaches to the London Games.
On July 2, the AFN president Solomon Ogba listed Ellenwood as one of the experts that could help improve Nigerian athletes in London when he released the official team list of the federation for the Games to the media at the secretariat of the Nigeria Olympic Committee. And three days after the event the Minister of Sports Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi announced the zero-tolerance stance of the Federal Government when he handed over Team Nigeria to the NOC on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan in a ceremony held at Lagos Sheraton Hotel.
